“The book “Florida Heritage Kids: Adventures from Spanish Settlement to the Modern Era,” (2022) by Senator George LeMieux and Laura Mize should almost be considered a “must read” for Florida K-12 students. ... Although slightly challenging, the language in this book does not appear to be too difficult for 4th and 5th grade students who are not yet reading on grade level. This book would also be an excellent addition to any reading list for Florida students, such as the Commissioner of Education’s Summer Reading List. I cannot recommend this book highly enough as a valuable resource to help Florida students understand the history of their state and better prepare them for college, career and citizenship.”
